Always the first weekend in August, Back To The Past is a two-day celebration of turn-of-the-century mill and homestead activities at Scribner's Mill. Exhibits include sawmill demonstrations, tours, craftsmen at work, antique cars, trucks, engines, homestead activities, children's events, a pig roast and baked bean "suppah" and much more. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

2011 Back to the Past featuring this year, eight teams of oxen from southern Maine demonstrating individual team and cooperative pulling skills.
 
Except where noted all activities are on-going from 10:00 to 4:00 both Saturday and Sunday.
Homestead area:
    House tours of the 1849 Scribner Homestead
    Sales booth - 20th anniversary T-shirts, hats and bumper stickers.
    Fresh squeezed lemonade booth
    Just Deserts booth with homemade pies and Gifford ice cream
    Exhibits and artisan demonstrations
    Food consession
    Children's activities, pillow fight, penny hunt, checkers, swing, etc.
    Chindren's workshops 10:30 - 12:00, 1:00 - 2:30
    Candle dipping 10:30 - 12:00
    Making home-made icecream for the young at heart  2:30
    Highland String Trio Concert- Saturday 11:30 - 1:30
